Alumenda Church Construction in Malawi
Laying of the foundation brick for the new church at Alumenda
A MAJOR STEP WAS TAKEN on the 23rd December 2007 when the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Alumenda church was performed by the Blantyre Synod Moderator
Reverend RG Bona assisted by Reverend Peter Kandulu. The weather was not kind; nevertheless the event was well attended by other Parish Ministers, elders, congregation, Synod
Supervisor and construction contractor personnel. The photographs show the arrival of the Synod Moderator greeted by Rev Peter Kandulu, the laying of the foundation brick by the Synod
Moderator and the Alumenda group after the event.
We have received estimates for the major elements of work namely, foundations & superstructure, roofing & ceiling, plumbing, electrical and lastly painting. Plans have been received by post and
attached. The foundations expect to be completed sometime in March or early April, a little later than previously planned, primarily due to rains at the start of the year.
Communications are now well established and as the construction progresses setbacks may occur but with the understanding we now have, we are in a better position to help and support the
project. We will also be given regular updates to minimise any concerns.
